I’m launching a new research project about resilience and social-ecological system study at Seoul National University. The project title is “Convergence study on social-ecological systems for urban resilience: theoretical foundation, practice development, and stewardship design”, supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea for 1 year. I would like to elucidate the social-ecological-semiotic processes occurring in cities; therefore, I will work under the environment of social science backgrounds and various collaborate with social scientists. The project includes theoretical review, a case study in urban landscapes, and stewardship practice for urban resilience, as written in the title. I expect the project will provide more obvious, advanced, and practical sense of research agenda about resilience and social ecological system.
