My researches aim to addresses the challenges of sustainability in both society and ecosystems. - 생태계의 이용과 보전의 균형점 혹은 중간 그 어딘가에 있기를 바랍니다.
I position my work at the intersection of ecosystem use and conservation—at the point of balance, or somewhere in between. - 과학이 생산하는 수치와 논문이 생산하는 문자에 매몰되지 않고 자연의 실체에 가까이 있고자 합니다.
I remain rooted in the lived reality of nature, resisting abstraction—whether in the numerical data produced by science or the words shaped by academic publications. - 제가 재미있고 설레서 심장이 쿵쾅쿵쾅하는, 그리고 동료연구자도, 독자도 재미있어할 수 있는 연구를 지향합니다.
I purse research that evokes wonder—work that stirs my curiosity and passion, and that fellow researchers and readers can also find engaging and delightful. - 산림을 본진으로 하되, 경계에 얽매이지 않고 상상력이 넘치는 연구를 기대합니다.
Although forests are my central focus, my research embraces imagination and crosses disciplinary boundaries with openness and flexibility.

- 산림 조사: 브루나이 열대림, 일본 후지산 소나무림, 중국 내몽고 사막화방지 조림지, 몽골 사막화방지 조림지, 에티오피아 산림복원 예비조사 등
- 수문 조사: 캄보디아 메콩강 하천 탄소 조사
- 답사: 일본 다카야마 장기생태연구지, 미국 에버글레이즈 습지, 볼리비아 아마존, 세이셸 야자나무림 등
- Forest field work: tropical forests in Brunei (2012, 2014), pine forest in Mt. Fuji, afforestation sites to combat desertification in Inner Mongolia, China and Mongolia, and reforestation sites in Ethiopia
- Inland water field work: carbon in Mekong River of Cambodia
- Field tour: Takayama LTER site in JAPAN, Everglades wetlands in the United States, Bolivian Amazon, palm forest in Seychelles, etc.
